This is a Confession:

I have been watching Toddler's and Tiara's. It makes me want to put a girl or two in a pageant.

I don't want to do the full on glitz stuff where there is spray tans, extensions, eyelashes, make up that looks like a 22 year old, French Mani-Pedi. I wouldn't do that.

But, I found one that is a natural pageant that takes off points for the above stated. It isn't too pricey and I think the girls might enjoy it one time. They don't discourage glitz dresses, but they prefer a more "little girl" look.

I'm totally NOT the pageant/stage mom type. I listen to Tupac and Audioslave. I like beer and cursing makes me laugh.

Is this crazy? I'm crazy. But it would give me something to look forward to in March and get me through the dreaded Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb months. I have to have something to look forward to.

These are winners to me.

I never watched the show but had my boys do modeling through New Star Discovery and we all enjoyed it. They both won in their age categories and received a photo shoot. They then got work modeling for local store advertisements. They "retired" when they got school age and I wouldn't pull them from school for shoots.

Anyway, I don't know what company you found but New Star Discovery is a reputable company to ork with.

They sure look like winners to me too. I hope you do it, sounds like fun!

I don't know much about pageants but The Son loves to watch that show with me and asked me recently if he could do a pageant. (It was an episode with boys in it) I quickly told him we don't have pageants in Pennsylvania because if we do, I'm sure they don't involve boys and I sure don't know where they are. A natural "little girl" pageant sounds so much more appealing.

I totally have a sick fascination with that show too. Although to be honest, usually I want to be in one...rough.

I think if it's a "natural" pageant, there's no way you can go wrong. And you're such a fab mom anyway, that there's no way your girls don't know what winners they are--pageant or no.

That show is like a train wreck for me. It makes me want to puke. But I tivo it and watch it weekly. I have, though, thought about putting Kensie in a pageant, but my dh will not allow it. If it's a truly natural one, I say go for it. Just please don't spray tan, use fake eyelashes, or a flipper (I can't believe I even know what that is). Be sure to put big azz bows in their hair and take loads of pictures!

I am going to go against the grain here and say "don't do it." Have you seen the types of people you'll be spending the better part of a weekend with? It's scary, to say the least.
