UGH, FSS! The Little Lil Momma has decided that she's Not That Into her BGB (big girl bed). Three times this week we have had visits in the night. Last night was the night of the Boomerang Baby.
I put her to bed early because she didn't nap. She popped out 3 times while we were still awake.
She finally fell asleep, but around midnight she popped up by my night stand. I got her and put her back to bed. I put her movie back on (DON'T YOU JUDGE ME) and went back to bed.
Again, she popped back up by my night stand. I took her back to bed and climbed in with her (DON'T YOU JUDGE ME) for about an hour.
She boomeranged BACK TO MY NIGHTSTAND at 5am and I didn't have it in me. I just threw her in bed with us and we snoozed until my alarm went off. I had a bad dream that it was Monday. God knows that I've had a rough one (with all of the dying and final plans and working and whatnots). Thank God it's Friday.
However, my Momma's have a sense of the difference between school/weekend days. They want to sleep in on school days and wake up early to Carpe Diem on the weekends. What is that, exactly? And why am I always the one that gets up with the Satan's Helpers?
Anyhow, I have settled in for a beer and an anxiety pill (no judging) and we are watching Pee Wee's Playhouse.

Ohhh that is no good.
I have no tips, but good luck with that. I dread the day that we have kids who are "getting adjusted" to a big bed.
No judging here. We played The Little Mermaid like 536 times when mine was a mini and teething. Good Night Nurse! ANYTHING to keep the tears at bay.
Good Luck with the BGB. Thank God, I didn't have a boomerang...wait a minute maybe I do now. The girl thinks she has to use MY bathroom in the middle of the night. Scares me awake every time.
omg I am laughing my ass off at the don't you judge me parts! Sounds exactly like what I have done!!
Would you consider locking her door? That's all I got...
LOL! I could have written that post...including the don't judge me's! Glad I'm not the only one!
Boomerang baby, LOL. We have that too, with two kids. No advise, but I feel your pain.
Hang in there it will get better!
OMG, mine do the exact same thing. I just swore the universe just hated me. Kinda glad to hear other people's kids do it too.
If keeping your kids is bed by putting on movies is wrong, then I don't wanna be right.
I had no idea that was wrong. Must check with BHB for guidance ;)
we also put on the movie at bedtime, but one better (or worse) we also provide popcorn & a water bottle. it works, like a freakin charm.
my daughter went through a pee-wee phase. she was 5. good times.
Girl, no judging here.
Damn kids.
When my daughter was young, I used to keep a portable bed (kind of like a fancy sleeping bag) under my side of the bed. I gave up fighting & would pull the bed out & let her sleep on the floor next to our bed. She got to the point where she would pull it out herself & not wake me. I'd just find her there in the morning. Sleep for everyone, which made me a happy camper. Hey, whatever works, right? I'm happy to say that she's now 13 & more than happy to stay in her own bed. Hang in there - won't last forever. Even though it seems like it...
that shit happens around here ALL THE TIME!! Sat morning they are up at the butt crack of dawn...weekdays, its a fight to get them out of bed at 7! GRRRRRR
Oh I feel for you...my #2 is 6 years old and we still have the boomerang bed...it is exhausting! We go for weeks without nighttime visits and then all of a sudden there she is!
My kids do the same thing!
School day = sleeping in.
Weekend day = UP AT 7 AM!
What in the heck?
I'd recommend putting a lock on LML's door so she's not wondering. I'd suggest a gate, but I bet she'd be a spider monkey & climb right over it.
I had to lock my oldest son's bedroom door when he was shy of 2 YO. He'd get up & "boomerang" into our bedroom. I'd march him back.
3 hours later, he's back again & then another return trip to his room.
I bought him a special pillow case that could only be used in his bed. That worked a few nights...but boomerang baby hit the floor running for us.
Geez!
So with the advice of a REAL British Nanny, we put a simple eye-hood latch at the top of his door where he couldn't get to it. We had a monitor & were directly across the hallway from him.
G/L!
