These people get cooler by the minute. It's true.
They are my parents, and they are my best friends. They are the reason I am the person that I am today.
I'm so lucky. They live about a mile away. We talk on the phone and email all day. We see each other every day. It's like air. I need it to live.
They have helped me through some majorly tough times in my life. Bringing my babies home from the hospital, for instance. They were there for me through every crying fit, every panic attack, everything.
Papa has been picking up the little one every morning and taking her to school for me. He never has to be asked to do something kind for us. Mimi and Papa pick the girls up from school every day at 4:00 and keep them until I get off work. They might not know it, but this is a huge relief for me not to have to take 45 minutes to pick everyone up and bring everyone home. It is a huge weight off of my shoulders.
I'm playing the part of single mamalicious right now as DL is out of town for training. My parents have picked up slack, and never once did I have to ask them. They just DO it.
Someday, I know my girls will look at me and think I'm a freak of nature. Then, one day, when they are grown up- my shit will be cool and they will be my best friends. Isn't it neat that I'm raising my best friends?
Thank you, my sweet parents. Thank you for being who you are and doing what you do. I hope every day that I do what makes you proud.

So jealous! You are one lucky mama:) Your girls are just too cute!

That was so sweet!!!
Sooooo sweet!!!! Cute pic!
I love that you realize how amazing your parents are now. I unfortunately didn't realize how freaking amazing my dad was until he died. I regret that every day. He was amazing and although we had many many differences while he was alive I realized soon after he died how many things we had in common. He really was a "cool" dad!
Yay for you for acknowledging that now. And that is awesome that your girls have such amazing grandparents! I have 3 kids that are seriously lacking in the grandparent department...by chance do you parents want to adopt me and my kids???? Just kidding..well sort of haha!
Mamalish, you went and made me cry! So sweet!
That is truly wonderful! You are so lucky to have them close by and part of the girls everyday life!
Awww.....I love your parents and I don't even know them! We should all be so lucky to have parents like yours!
And hey...I JUST realized how much LLM looks like your mom! WOW!
You truly do have awesome parents. You are so blessed. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I truly enjoy your adventures and your awesome sense of humor.

WOw, a mile away!? HOW AWESOME! what a nice post!
That is so awesome!
My parents aren't exactly my best friends, but my dad IS my kiddos daycare and my mom is their wardrobe purchaser and stylist.
There is no waking them up and getting them ready and taking them to a center. We just grab them outta bed drive them a couple minutes to Pa's house and put them back in bed.
They get two of them ready and take them to school on preschool days. All I have to worry about in the mornings is getting myself and the oldest up and getting to work.
It's nice to have parents that are such a huge part in my kid's lives.
Most days I don't even mind that they seem to like them better and behave better for them.
You are indeed lucky and they are lucky to have you as well. That is so wonderful!!
Awesome post. I wish I had parents like this!
What a wonderful tribute to your parents. I always enjoy reading your blog but this one was extra special.
How cool!
I, too, love this post. Sadly, my mom passed away before my babies were born. I miss her every single day, I wish she could have known my kids.
My dad and I talk every few days, and my kids love going to see him. He is about 20 minutes away, but I do wish we were closer--so there could be more spontaneous visits, etc. (esp. with the price of gas being crazy)
I am glad that I was friends with my mom.
You are one lucky momma to have both your parents--and your lil mommas are super lucky: great grandparents and a great mom!
I nominated you for an award over on my blog. You totally crack me up! I love reading!
LLM looks exactly like your mom!!
How sweet are you?! I loooooove my parents too!
:)
Isn't it awesome when your parents are not just family but friends too?? I can only hope that my children are as close with me and my parents are now!
Do you have any idea how lucky you are? Seriously. What a gift to you and your children.
AWWWW so so so sweet!!!
You are so blessed! They love you so much and just adore those baby girls! They are awesome and I feel so fortunate that I know them and you!
I can vouch for their awesome-ness. Remember, Mimilicious introbued me to Iron Butterfly and Stairway.
Hug 'em for me!
That's so awesome! My mom and I live about 20 minutes apart.. we talk everyday... and email. We liek to bug eachother, in a good way lol.
I sure wish my Daddy was still around though :( *sigh*
