Star Student of the Week

Big Lil Momma is Star Student of the Week! She will get to run across the stage at the weekly awards assembly on Monday morning and give all of the teachers a High Five.

Mrs. Teacher told Daddylicious the news this morning (but didn't tell BLM). When I talked to her this afternoon, she told me the great news. She has had such a fantastic time at school so far. I'm thrilled that we chose to send her to Transitional First Grade rather than on to First Grade. It feels right, and that's such a good thing.

Big Lil Momma has learned some new songs at her new school. She was singing one this morning, and I could hear her singing before I opened her door to greet her. She sang, "My Country Tiz Ta Pee." It was so precious I thought my face was going to melt. I will try to capture the whole song for multi slacking purposes.

The LM's are with their Mimi (making mud pies) and I'm getting my clean on. Clean Sheet Day!

Lipstick- Thanks for the congrats! We are way proud!

Transitional first grade is a cross between K and 1st. In the first semester, they review concepts from the last half of K. In the 2nd semester, they learn material from the 1st semester of 1st grade.

We think it will help her in her future academics. She is a youngling (just turned 6 on August 14).

We are glad we had that option for her!

Well congrats to her! I bet she's proud.

Our girls share the same birthday, only mine turned 7.

It really is hard for her being the "young" one. Not to mention how little she is. Everyone towers over her. By the end of the year, she's at the height everyone else was at the beginning of the year! Makes for some great pictures though. :)

Congrats BLM! What an achievement so soon in the school year! I wish we had transitional first grade her, it sounds like a great program.

Holly!

Yay for her!! Just so you know, my mom is a kindergarten teacher to this day and was when I was in school. My bday is August 24th and the cutoff bday was September 1st. So, I went to an extra year of pre-school and didn't go to kindergarten til I was almost 6! But, it was totally the best way to go! I Loved!! being the oldest and the smartest (not to brag....but I was)! I can totally relate and you for sure did the right thing! Just wait til she gets to drive early for her class.....!

What a cutie... good for her!

By the way, I failed preschool too, meaning I had just turned 7 when I started first grade. I always liked being older - first to drive, first to turn 21 - it was great!
