Several things were strange about this weekend.
It is August. It should be anywhere around 99-112 degrees. The lake should feel like bathwater. There should be no clouds in the sky, and the wind should not blow. These are the things that I've come to expect from August. By September, I'm sick of it- but in August I'm hanging on to summer and enjoying it. I'm one of those crazy-ass people who loves the heat.
My body is confused. It's 85. There are clouds and a slight breeze. I don't get that sensation of overpowering burning hell when I go from inside to outside.
So I'm depressed that it's school time. I'm depressed that football is around the corner. I don't want to give up my lake daze. I'm not ready to pack away my swim suit. I think I cried in my sleep a little bit over it last night.
Little Glasses was crawling with deer this weekend. We saw so many with fawn. That's strange. I wouldn't think that it was still the season for animals giving birth to babies, but what do I know? I thought that happened in the spring. It feels like spring. Maybe we get to skip fall and winter and go right back to spring? That would be ideal!
We also saw a Momma duck with three fairly fresh ducklings. They still had their yellow down. Is mother nature confused? I'm confused. I've never seen ducklings in August. It is August, isn't it?
School starts tomorrow. I have to make sure that my little ducklings are nestled in early tonight. I will post pictures tomorrow of what my T-1 student looks like!

Totally agree Mamalicious! It feels so cool and balmy here. I am used to not being able to breathe b/c it is so hot. Weird.

See...I am READY for Fall...I don't want to have to look at this body in a bathing suit anymore! YUCK! Good luck with school tomorrow....K's was a week and a half ago and it went great:)

about the deer. my mom has tons of deer in her backyard (she lives in the mountains) and she feeds them deer corn and the mamas come and bring their babies. She has one deer that has twins, they are so cute!!!
