We are fever free and healthy as of 5:44pm. The BLM took an hour nap. Our cat, Phoebelicious, slept on her head. I told her that Phoebe took her fever away during her nap. Her appetite has returned. She is her normal happy, sing-song, talkative self.
After picking up the LLM at daycare, we went to Wal Mart. The first thing LLM always tells me when we get there is that she "ONTS TO WOK." I tell her no. She is riding in the cart. The protest begins as soon as the sliding doors open and the carts are sitting in front of us.
The LLM has added a new move to her repertoire. It is known as the Stiff Leg. The Stiff Leg makes it impossible to put a 2 year old in the cart. Everyone in Aduh is passing us going into the store. The LLM is yelling, "NO MOMMA! I WOK!!!" repeatedly. I'm laughing at her tactics, and BLM is pointing at a baby and trying to get me to look at it. I couldn't do anything but laugh because LLM was just getting stiffer and harder to bend in the middle.
I managed to get her in the cart and she yelled at me and tried to stand up in the cart for a solid ten minutes. I told her that she wasn't going to get a good girl treat. She didn't give a ratz ass about a good girl treat. She ONTED TO WOK.
She didn't get to WOK. She had to sit, but she did get to share a good girl treat with her sissy. Sometimes... they just wear me down.

Mine's 3 and still hates to ride in carts...unless they're those huge hard to maneuver kind that hold almost nothing...then she loves it. Of course.
Oh, this is so funny. I am very familiar with the stiff legged shopping cart protest. Sigh...it wears me down too.
Just reading all wears me out. I don't see how you have the energy from day to day.
But its so funny how you describe everything. Your girls crack me UP!!!
I have a 3 year old who pulls that stiff as a board crap too in the shopping carts. Sometimes he whips that trick out for the car seat too. It was much easier to fight with him about it when he didn't weigh 45 pounds. I hate to sweat trying to put my freaking kid in the car!
J does the same stiff body thing. However, he always wants to walk. Once we get about halfway through the store, then it's "Uppie, uppie!". We now have a rule that he must choose at the beginning of the trip if he wants to walk or ride in the cart. If he chooses the former, then he must walk the whole way. Shopping with a walking almost three-year-old takes five times as long, though.
the key to the stiff leg is to tickle the culprit behind the knees and they bend!
I am glad BLM is all better!
I am so glad BLM is feeling better! I know what you mean about wearing you down sister--it is a kid thing!
You make me smile every day.

Way to hold your ground. Can I have her treat instead?
Ha! The stiff leg tactic! You have to tickle them in the ribs and they melt like butta!
Glad the sickness has left your house...it's about time, huh?
I still make my 4.5 year old ride in the cart on occasion. It's SO much easier that way and he gets over it pretty quickly.
The stiff leg is never good though. While a tickle might work, I find a subtle little pinch to the underarm works so much better.
OMG, my kids have all done the same thing (stiff legs)in order to get out of riding in the cart.
I warn them that the Wal-Mart PoPo will come & get them.
I depise shopping with anything under 7years of age. LOATHE IT!!!!!
