Operation Binky Bye Bye

Tonight is the night.

I will not be offering the Binky at bedtime tonight. We have been free-0-the-binky during waking hours for about a month now. It is time to remove the paci from our lives.

This is a holiday weekend for me (which sucks, can't I have all of my holidaze in the summer, please?). I don't have to work Monday (say a prayer for this Mamalicious). I figured that I better do it now before the Little Lil Momma gets so attached she jumps in her bed for a "fix".

Naps and bedtime will be Binky Free starting tonight.

********UPDATE*******************

I'm whispering this, as I do not want to jinx myself.

The Little Lil Momma did not make a PEEP at bedtime. As I was putting her jammies on her, she asked for "mine" (her term for binky). I told her that the binky went bye bye, then I distracted her. I made sure she was very tired, then I put her in bed. I didn't hear any protest.

Let's just pretend that I didn't type any of that, K? I know it could all change in one Sweet Jesus Second.

Amen Sister! This to-do list is ALL to familiar! The thing about bringing up the trashcan really gets to me too. This hubby-o-mine I guess doesn't "see" it nor does he know when trash daze are. Isn't trash apposed to be a boy job?!!! Leave it up to super mom though...she do it all!

Girl, I know! What is it with that... maybe I bought an INVISIBLE trash can or something? This kitchen trash can is invisible, too I guess. I'm going to buy a new one this weekend. Maybe if it looks like a can of Bud Light he will see it? Maybe?

Wow! Score 1 for Mamalicious. I put it off until P was 3 and it was not fun and his teeth did not look pretty. However, we did Operation Take the Paci to the Baby Monkeys at the Zoo and that worked great!

I was having major problems with my son's binky addiction! My friend absolutely raved about the cut method, and all of the psychology behind it. She emailed me a link to a site that has a free publication ( www.bye-bye-binky.com -supported by advertisements) on dropping the binky, so I tried it. Very cool stuff, worked beautifully for my son. Four days later he did not want anything to do with his binky. Highly recommended! I am also interested in others experiences with this method.... Bella
